Panama, Haiti and United States qualified for CONCACAF Gold Cup

Panama, Haiti and United States are the national sides that have already qualified and snatched their spot in Group A of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Those teams will be competing in Group A but there still is one spot that is available and is going to be defined after Honduras competes against French Guiana in a match that will decide which team is going to qualify and secure the last spot of Group A.

Costa Rica, El Salvador, Jamaica and Canada were pitted together in Group B and lastly, Group C has Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago.

The only qualification match that is left to be played is between Honduras and French Guiana. Both sides will face off on March 25 and the leg is scheduled to be played on March 29.

Qualifying and making a good performance in the 2015 Gold Cup will be the first task that Jorge Luis Pinto has to accomplish as the head coach of Honduras. The Colombian coach was established as the manager of Honduras earlier in December of 2014 after he decided to step down and leave the managerial role of Costa Rica.

Jorge Luis Pinto worked his magic with his former national side Costa Rica as the Central American team managed to reach the quarter-final stages of the 2014 World Cup. Honduras on the other hand failed to win a single match as they exited the latest edition of the World Cup by conceding 8 goals in the group stages and scoring only once.

Luis Fernando Suarez was the coach of Honduras during this World Cup but after these disastrous results, he was sacked. The president of the Honduran Football Association Rafael Callejas searched around for Jorge Luis Pinto and managed to make transform him into the coach of Honduras.

The next few days will be a test to see if this decision was the right one as Jorge Luis Pinto has the challenge of putting Honduras in the 2015 Gold Cup as well as make a good run in the upcoming tournament.
